Use case

Group expenses for trips, couples and friends who spend together

Make one group, add expenses as they happen, and let Slyce keep the running tally. When you are ready, settle everyone with the fewest payments.

From first expense to settled

Add it on the go. Settle when the trip is over.

A group keeps one running tally in one currency. Anyone can add an expense in seconds, and balances stay clear the whole way.

1

Make a group, add the people

Name it, pick the group currency and invite everyone by link or QR code. Friends can join without installing the app.

2

Add expenses in seconds

Amount, who paid, who shared it. Split evenly or pick exactly who was in. Scan a receipt when you want the items.

3

Settle with the fewest payments

Slyce turns the whole tally into one simple plan. Settle at the end, or any time along the way.

The short answer

Create a group, invite everyone by link or QR code, and add each expense with who paid and who shared it. Slyce keeps a running balance in one group currency and, when you are ready, turns it into the smallest set of payments that settles everyone.

Who this is for

Why a group works better than a spreadsheet

Worked example: four friends in Lisbon

Four people split everything evenly. Each person paid for something different, and Slyce works out the rest.

Lisbon trip · expenses
Ana paid the Airbnb€240.00
Ben paid dinners€96.00
Chloe paid taxis€48.00
You paid groceries€64.00
Group total (€112.00 each)€448.00

Ana paid €128 more than her share, so she is owed €128. You, Ben and Chloe each paid less than €112, so each owes the difference. Slyce turns that into one payment each:

Lisbon trip · simplified settlement
You pay Ana€48.00
Ben pays Ana€16.00
Chloe pays Ana€64.00
Payments for the whole group3

Settle when it suits you

You do not have to settle at the end of the trip. The plan updates as expenses are added, so you can settle halfway, after the trip, or weeks later. Each person pays through the recipient's own payment details with Slyce Pay, then taps Mark as paid.

A group, or a one-time bill?

Use a group for something ongoing. For a single dinner with people you will never add to a group, a one-time bill still counts toward your balance with each person.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to settle at the end of the trip?

No. Settle whenever you like. The plan updates as expenses are added.

Can a group use more than one currency?

Expenses can be in other currencies, and the group settles in one currency, the group currency, so the final plan is simple.

Do my friends need the app?

No. They can join through a link or QR code without installing Slyce or creating an account.

Can I split something unevenly?

Yes. Pick exactly who shared an expense, or assign the items of a scanned receipt to the people who had them.
