Use case

A night out where two of you paid for most things

Make one group for the night. Each payer adds what they paid and asks friends to claim it, or assigns it themselves. Slyce combines it all into one settlement.

The classic night out

The night ends. The spreadsheet shouldn't begin.

Most of the night went on two of you. The next day someone sits at a computer, lines up the card statement and tries to remember who had what. In Slyce, that job goes to the people who had the tiramisu.

The next morning, the old way

A laptop, a statement and a very long group chat

wait who had the second round??
Tiramisu was Chloe, right? Can everyone send me what they owe?
With Slyce

You pay. They claim. One settlement.

  • Make a group for the night and add what you paid, or scan the receipt on the spot.
  • Ask friends to claim their items, or assign them yourself. The other payer does the same.
  • Slyce combines everything into one simplified plan, so people pay as few times as possible.
Friends owe you$63.00
How joining works

One link. Everyone claims their own.

Save the bill with nothing assigned, share a link or QR code, and watch it fill up. You stay out of the maths.

1

Ask participants

Scan the receipt and save it with nothing assigned. Slyce keeps it as an open bill and gives you a link and a QR code.

2

Friends pick their name

They open the link, no app and no account, and choose who they are on the bill. Not on the list? They add themselves.

3

They tap what they had

Quantities, shared dishes, or take what is left. Their share updates as they tap, and nobody else can take the same item by accident.

4

You watch it fill up

See who joined, who is done and who is still picking. Nudge the slow ones with one tap. You never open a spreadsheet.

The last item gets claimed. The bill closes itself.

Balances appear once every item has an owner, so nobody ever sees half-finished numbers. Then everyone pays you once, in any currency, with the fewest payments.

The short answer

Create a group for the night and invite everyone. Each person who paid adds their expenses, and friends claim their items from a link, or the payer assigns them. Slyce merges every payer's expenses into a single simplified plan, so nobody builds a spreadsheet and nobody pays more often than needed.

How it works with two payers

  1. Make a group for the night. Name it, invite everyone by link or QR code. It takes a few seconds, and the group keeps every payer's expenses together.
  2. Each payer adds what they paid. Scan the receipt or enter the amount. Leave items unassigned and ask participants to claim them, or assign them yourself.
  3. Friends claim their own. They open the link, pick their name and tap what they had. Nothing counts until every item has an owner.
  4. Slyce merges it into one plan. Both payers' expenses and everyone's shares are combined, and the group settles with as few payments as possible.

Worked example: five friends, two payers

You paid for dinner and Dev paid for the bars and a cab. Everyone claimed their own items, and the shares of the night came to: You $55, Dev $50, Ana $40, Ben $45, Chloe $35.

Friday night · who paid
You paid dinner$120.00
Dev paid bars and a cab$105.00
Total for the night$225.00

You paid $65 more than your share and Dev paid $55 more than his. Ana, Ben and Chloe owe the rest. Instead of up to six separate transfers between the three of them and the two of you, Slyce settles it in four:

Friday night · simplified settlement
Ben pays You$45.00
Ana pays You$20.00
Ana pays Dev$20.00
Chloe pays Dev$35.00
Payments for the whole group4

You do not have to chase

Open bills show who has joined, who is done and who is still picking, and you can nudge anyone who has not opened the link. If someone never gets round to it, assign their items yourself and confirm.

When the night is over

Everyone pays the person they owe through that person's own payment details with Slyce Pay, and taps Mark as paid. The group updates as payments are recorded.

Frequently asked questions

What if only one of us paid?

Same flow, with one payer. Share the bill as a claim link and let friends tap their items.

Can both payers add expenses?

Yes. Any member of the group can add expenses, and Slyce combines them into one plan.

What if a friend is not on Slyce?

They can join from the link or QR code without installing the app or creating an account.

Do we have to claim every item?

The bill stays open until every item has an owner. You can assign leftovers yourself.
