Use case

Split a restaurant bill by item, in seconds

Scan the receipt, let everyone tap what they had, and each person pays their own share. No calculator, no rounding up, no chasing.

From receipt to paid

Three steps, about as long as the bill takes to arrive

Scan the receipt, assign the items together or by link, then everyone pays their own share to whoever paid.

1

Scan the receipt

Photograph it and the items are read for you. Fix anything that was read wrong, add tax or tip, and you are ready to assign.

2

Assign it, together or by link

At the table, open live mode and everyone taps their items on their own phone. Already left? Send a claim link and let them do it later.

3

Everyone pays their share

Each person sees exactly what they owe, opens the payer's own payment details and taps Mark as paid. No chasing.

The short answer

Photograph the receipt and Slyce reads the items. At the table, open live mode so everyone taps their own items, or send a claim link if people have left. Tax and tip are shared in proportion, and each person pays the payer through the payer's own payment details, then taps Mark as paid.

Which way to assign?

Scanning gives you the items. After that there are three ways to say who had what. Use whichever fits the moment, and mix them on the same bill.

Two or three people can finish a bill for a table of ten in live mode. All three end in the same place: a finalized bill that updates balances.

How settling works, step by step

  1. Everyone sees their share. Once the bill is final, each person sees exactly what they owe, with tax and tip shared in proportion to what they ordered.
  2. They open the payer's details. The payer saves their payment details once (PayPal, Revolut, Venmo, bank transfer and more). Everyone else sees them next to the amount.
  3. They pay in their own app. Slyce opens the payment app or shows the details to copy. Slyce never moves the money itself.
  4. They tap Mark as paid. Slyce cannot see transfers made in other apps, so the balance clears when the person confirms. Paid in cash? Mark it as paid too.

Tax and tip, shared fairly

Tax and tip scale with what each person ordered, not an equal cut for everyone. If you had 10% of the food, you cover about 10% of the tax and tip. The restaurant bill guide explains the maths if you want to do it by hand.
